Internationally famed author, Jackie Collins, launched her 25th novel at an over-subscribed lunch for the Cape Times Literary Club readers at our Plaza on Sunday 28th October. Readers were treated to a delicious meal of lightly smoked Franschhoek trout, roast chicken breast and warm chocolate tart, cooked to perfection by Matthew Gordon, Duncan Doherty and Jean-Pierre Smith of Outcook Express.
Jackie entertained a crowd of 140 Cape Times readers with a witty introduction to her new book, Drop Dead Beautiful, published by Jonathan Ball Publishers, and anecdotes of her life amongst the rich and famous where she lives in Hollywood, and enthused about the Cape hospitality she was enjoying and the beauty of Vrede en Lust. She promised to return to visit South Africa again.
