Vrede en Lust Commitment to Wine Tourism

We recently opened our new wedding and function venue ‘The Vineyard Terrace‘ at Vrede en Lust. We built this so that we could dedicate our winery and wine tasting facility to wine tourism. So that means we will not longer host any private functions at the winery and it becomes a 100% dependable destination for you and your friends!

Along with free tastings of our general wine range and special Wine Enthusiast tastings (where we pair some of our special wines with the right kind of food), we also added two competition-sized boules or Petanque playing surfaces. We do not charge for the use of the petanque playing surfaces and have some sets of boules available for those who do not travel with their own sets!

On the wine side, we are proud to be home to Susan Wessels, South Africa’s Woman Winemaker of the Year. Her wines are great and she is very good with group tastings, cellar tours and fluent in German as well!

The new Cotage Fromage is a 160 seater with lots of space for groups of all sizes. We have an area where we can reserve and dedicate the space for tour groups of up to 50. We have a whole new parking lot with lots of space too.

The new Cotage is schedule to open its door to the public on the 10th of December 2007.

Our goal is to make Vrede en Lust one of the best-loved wineries in South Africa and to do this by exceeding our clients’ expectations in every respect. As you can see, we are working hard to improve our offering and to ensure that you have the most wonderful experience here.
