Monday morning at the office after our annual harvest festival reminds you of an ant farm… A whirlwind of activity, tying up all the knots after an event that takes quite a few months to organise. As usual we are all walking around with big smiles on our faces, happy and satisfied with a very successful event where we could treat our wine club members and their guests to a special day on the estate. This year’s theme was carnival/circus and we went all out to ensure that our guests had a relaxed day, filled with all kinds of activities, entertainment, good food and superb wines.
Guests started off their day with an informative hike on our “Vryersvoetpad” where they could stop by 4 different wine tasting stations along the way to quench their thirst. After a long, fun walk, the hikers we welcomed in front of the Manor House with ice cold water, live folk music and our grape stomping bins where they could stomp to their hearts desire. Some enjoyed the grapes between their toes a little more than others but the Federweisser and Zwiebelkuchen that was served in front of our pool house after the stomping was a big hit with everyone! Here everyone could relax in the shade of the trees with their German treats until they were ready to move to our main venue where the rest of the activities were commencing.
The rest of the day was a focus on our exclusive Artisan wine range, paired with a variety of food stalls to create a festive feeling, someone who did caricature drawings of our guests, magicians, stilt walkers, giant garden games and the big hit of the day; the live entertainment by Peter Mitchell, all the way from Scotland:)
We would like to thank everyone who attended this important event in our annual calendar who made a huge contribution to the success of the day and those who have already sent us great feedback on the day.
Till next year…
