As most of you will know, Vrede en Lust has one of the most amazing and popular wedding venues in the country – even if we may say so ourselves. This time of the year wedding season is in full swing and young couples are either getting engaged, are busy planning their wedding or getting married. Everyone has a bit of a hop and a skip in their walk and feel ready to fall in love. For those who have long been married and have no interest to read about beautiful dresses, jaw-dropping views and pretty flowers… feel free to head on over to the wine section here.

Let’s be honest… this time of year no one is really in the mood to read anything or learn anything new. Instead of boring you with details about all the photographic opportunities on the estate, boutique accommodation for most of your guests, award-winning wines, our amazing venue and super professional and friendly hospitality staff to name a few things… I am just going to make this post a feast for the eyes:) I even created a mood board with images from Pinterest to showcase a few beautiful ideas to incorporate into your wedding.

Lynsey & Declan

Beautiful Lynsey and her handsome prince got married on a stunning day in February earlier this year. Even though they both live in London they have a special connection with South Africa, Declan originally being from South Africa, and chose our beautiful venue as their dream wedding venue making sure all their guests flew in for the lavish affair.

We received this letter from Lynsey this morning and thought we should share it on the blog. We will let the images tell the rest of the story:

I wanted to write a testimonial for the website as we really did have the most amazing time, please see below:

‘Vrede en Lust, is the most beautiful and magical place on earth, and even better than the photo’s make you believe. Yolanda was amazing throughout the whole planning process, we really couldn’t have asked for a better wedding planner, she listened to every detail to ensure our day was absolutely perfect, and she was supported by the lovely Franlie who was also brilliant! The food was absolutely delicious, the waiting staff were so friendly, especially Alexander, who was amazing and the girls in the tasting room were lovely, when it rained in the morning, they were so supportive, telling me everything will be fine, and they were right, as the sun came out just in time for the ceremony, what a fabulous team! It makes me sad to think it’s all over, but we have the most amazing memories, I wish we could do it all over again! I can’t wait until the next time we visit, it’s just such a wonderful place. Thanks again for everything, I think we should be coming out to SA in November as we are hoping to buy a property out there, so I’m sure we’ll stop by for a glass of wine or two and re-live the whole experience again!

The 17^thof December 2011, marked the date for Nikki and Peter’s lovely wedding. Different shades of purple filled the scenery, which enhanced the fresh summer vibes at this exquisite venue.

The décor looked amazing, with detail in every bit. The instant cameras on the tables ensured some great memories for the newlyweds and their guests as well. We adored the couple’s fun loving sense of humour. May the joy in their hearts and laughter on their lips remind them that this is a sign of a pretty good grasp of life.

This couple shared their memorable day on the 29th of December 2011. They kept their feet grounded, but had their heads in the clouds on this fabulous day.

The theme was cheese and wine, which blended well with the wine lands indeed. Vrede and Lust wish Abigail and Gareth a prosperous future together, and may your love age like good wine.

The diversity of their guests accentuated the crisp, fresh and vibrancy of their wedding. The energy of this unforgettable couple shone through the colours on their special day and it was a day which would be remembered at Vrede en Lust for seasons to come. These two love birds tied the knot on the 10th December 2011, in true vintage flair. Vrede en Lust’s picturesque scenery ensured the perfect backdrop for a dreamy atmosphere.

Natalie and Travis simbolized their love through white doves during the ceremony, which was also included in the décor. This was a beautiful way in which to celebrate the serenity and faithfulness of love.
