With wine tourism estimated to contribute about R5,5bn in revenue to the Cape, stakeholders are going all out to improve their offerings to visitors. And initiatives such as Great Wine Capitals Global Network Best of Wine and Tourism competition are helping raise the bar.
Wines of South Africa (WOSA) was responsible for co-ordinating the local leg of this international competition, which was judged by specialists in a number of different categories. Stellenbosch and the Helderberg proved with each winning three of the six categories. Be sure to add these to your must-visit list!
