Ansoné completed her B.Agric (Cellar Technology) degree at Elsenburg in 2006 and followed interesting ventures to gain more experience in her field of expertise.
In 2007 she assisted during harvest at Simonsvlei and worked for 3 months in Napa, USA. In 2008 Susan appointed her to work at Vrede En Lust during harvest time and afterwards she embarked on a journey to Marlborough in New Zealand and St. Emillion in France. She returned to Vrede En Lust for the 2009 harvest again and was quite seriously offered a permanent job and the title of Assistant Winemaker on the 1st of April (April Fools’ Day!)
For Ansoné, the following words are a perfect collective of the meaning of wine: “Wine to me is passion. It’s family and friends. It’s warmth of heart and generosity of spirit. Wine is art. It’s culture. It’s the essence of civilization and the art of living” – Robert Mondavi, “Harvests Of Joy”, Autobiography.
