Gold @ the Michelangelo Awards in 2005
In 2007 we built the new Vineyard Terrace in front of the Historic Cellar. The Terrace is a 250sqm deck covered by a modern Tension Structure twin-top tent-like roof. Set right next to a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard and with a large lawn area, the new Terrace has become the most desirable function venue in the Cape winelands. The views from the Terrace to the Simonsberg and Groot Drakenstein mountains, across seas of vines, are truly breathtaking.
The venue caters for up to 160 people seated or up to 250 people for cocktail functions. A see-through tent wall, with waterproof lining is available in case poor weather threatens your function. A 6.5m long bar counter is built in with under-counter fridges and serving area.
The lovely 220 year old Historic Cellar can accommodate up to 120 people with a dance floor. The historic cellar had once been used to house barrels of wine in the past and is now our most popular function space as it is perfect for all seasons. In the winter time, underfloor heating keeps guests comfortable and in the spring and summer the cellar naturally keeps cool. It may be a great place to party: have the music and lounge area inside and keep the conversation and festivities going on the Terrace!
The doors open onto the Terrace. Spectacular views of the Simonsberg and Groot Drakenstein mountains can be seen from this venue. The Historic Cellar is multi functional, able to accommodate the ceremony or reception with its unique horizontal structure.
There are a number of garden locations to chose from for a wedding ceremony, plus inside the Historic Cellar in the event of weather risk. Secure parking for nearly 100 vehicles is available right next to the venue.
