Wine Tasting and Sales

We offer free wine tasting at our Tasting room counter! Visitors often ask us why we offer free wine tastings when most other wineries charge for tastings? We always try to explain that there is a difference between free tasting and free drinking :-)

We also explain that it does not make sense to spend a lot of money to attend a wine show somewhere and then charge those who take the time and make the effort to come and visit us! If you make the investment in time to visit with us, it is only natural for us to reward your investment.

Complete your vine and wine experience and relax in our modern Cape-African winery complex where our tasting room is situated, overlooking seas of vines and onto the beautiful Groot Drakenstein mountains.

Make yourself comfortable at our tasting tables or one one of the comfortable leather couches and let us guide you through our range of wines. We offer the Entusiast Wine tasting which is a pairing of our top selection of wines with local cheese, chocolate and other delicacies at R75 per person.

Exclusively for our Wine Club Members we also have a private tasting room in our cellar, where wine tastings are available with our winemaker Susan Wessels. Bookings in advance are essential. (Subject to availability)

Let your Vrede en Lust journey continue by purchasing any of our fine wines available at our Cellar Door and take your "vine to wine" experience home.

We are open Monday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm for tasting from 1 September until the end of May. From 1 June until the end of August we are open from 10am till 4pm Tuesday to Sunday. Groups of more than 10 visitors by appointment please.
