The global level of Carbon emissions creates the "green-house" effect which leads to Global Warming.
Trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and store the Carbon in the form of carbohydrates, and release Oxygen back into the environment.
It is estimated that the average Westerner needs to plant 4-5 trees per year to compensate for their level of Carbon pollution.
Climate Change and specifically Global Warming is getting a lot more serious attention globally, also in the USA at top level, where it is required most.
Africa has suffered immense loss of hardwood trees over the past century due to:
* 8 fold population increase resulted in forests making way for towns, cities, roads and agriculture.
* Poor communities burn trees/wood (CO2 emissions) for heat & cooking purposes but do not replace the trees.
There is desperate need to:
* To plant the right type of trees in the right places
* Educate the people about the need to care for trees
* Restore the Carbon Balance
Global Warming will dramatically impact the world?s wine growing regions:
* Australia experienced 7 straight years of drought and the worst drought in 100 years during 2007.
* Alcohols are rising as more heat produces higher sugar levels in traditionally cooler climates.
* Many regions will become too hot and dry for quality wine production.
* New wine regions are opening up in areas previously too cool such in England and even some islands north of Germany!
"God in His goodness sent the grapes, to cheer both great and small, little fools will drink too much, and great fools not at all."
