Barrique 2010
The Vrede en Lust Artisan Range is handmade, in very small quantities exclusively for our WineClub members.
The labels are reproduced from Susan’s own handwritten versions of the labels.
The Semillon is sourced from the single vineyard Semillon block at the entrance to our Elgin farm. The Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of our SB vineyard next to the Kogelberg hydro-electric dam
Total production only 2,700 bottles Available in 750ml.
Tasting Notes
Typical earthy aromas of Semillon; some minerality and with hints of jasmin and floral notes. Very well balanced and elegant with a long finish.
The wine was bottled under Stelvin closure to ensure optimal freshness
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were pressed and the juice went straight to 225L French Oak barrels for fermentation. The Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon were fermented separately. The barrels were a special selection of new, 2nd and 3rd fill. The wines were left on their lees and blended ahead of bottling.

Food Pairing
A classical blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc makes this wine wonderful for food pairing. A Seared Tuna Steak may be the perfect partner to this wine, although it would be great with sashimi too.
