CCV 2010
The Vrede en Lust Artisan Range is handmade, in very small quantities exclusively for our WineClub members.
The labels are reproduced from Susan’s own handwritten versions of the labels.
The Chenin Blanc grapes are sourced from our registered single vineyard Chenin block on our Elgin farm. The Chardonnay and Viognier from the same farm.
Total production is only 1,500 750ml bottles.
Tasting Notes
A perfectly balanced blend between the typical fruit character of Chenin, orange-peel and citrus aromas from Chardonnay, with the elegance, spice and perfume fruits from the Viognier grape.
The wine was bottled under Stelvin closure to ensure optimal freshness
Winemaker Notes
The Chenin Blanc is from our first crop from our Casey’s Ridge Kogelberg vineyard in Elgin. The grapes all came in at very low yields due to wind damage in early summer. The wines were fermented in 225L French oak barrels using 2nd and 3rd fill barrels. The Viognier adds more elegance and fruit to the blend. Orange-peel and citrus on the nose…
