Vrede en Lust wine farm boasts a remarkable history dating back to 1688 when it was first founded by Jacques du Savoye, a Flemish Merchant. The Governor of the Cape allocated his farm to De Savoye, who arrived in Table Bay on 26 April 1688 with the 160-feet oosterland.
Inspired by the idyllic surroundings and the vision of creating a flourishing vineyard, Savoye laid the foundation for what would become a lasting legacy. Over the centuries, the farm has been lovingly nurtured by subsequent generations, becoming an icon of winemaking in the Cape Winelands.
